Real Work. Real Skills. Real Experience.

About the WorknLearn work experience program

What's involved

Work n Learn is a Sunshine Coast stationery business with a bigger purpose. It grew out of Get Ready for Work, a work skills program run by Therapy Assistance and Support Services (TASS). Today it’s a real, working business where young people gain hands-on work experience in a supported environment.

Every school pack and stationery order that leaves our doors is part of someone’s work experience. Participants get involved in the everyday jobs that keep an online business running:

  • Inventory management
  • Order fulfilment and logistics
  • Customer service
  • Online services and website updates
  • Everyday workplace skills like routines, teamwork and problem-solving

Who it's for

Work n Learn is for autistic and disabled young people aged 14–24 who are ready to explore what work could look like for them. That might mean a first casual job, a summer role, or the first steps toward longer-term employment.

Participants work in small groups, at a pace that suits them, in a welcoming, neurodiversity-affirming space with people who get it. Fees are aligned with NDIS rates, and self-funded options are available.

"My son completed the WorknLearn Work Experience Program and he just had so much fun. Every day he came home telling me how much he enjoyed it, and I've actually noticed his confidence and social skills have improved greatly"
- Karen M, Parent

Why we do it

Learning about work in a classroom is a great start, but nothing builds confidence like doing the real thing. We want every young person to leave with practical skills, a resume they’re proud of, and a clearer picture of where they’re headed.

When families and schools order from Work n Learn, they’re helping make that happen.

Want to know more? Whether you’re a parent, carer, educator or local business, we’d love to hear from you. There’s no commitment, just a chat about whether Work n Learn is the right fit.
